Having worked with artists of all kinds has provided the opportunity to work with clients and mediums of all kinds. Here’s just a few of the projects I’ve produced outside of animation.
MEgan Hess x Hallmark
This started as a collaboration between Disney and fashion illustrator, Megan Hess, to bring an added bit of style to the iconic crew of Princesses. The range resulted in a set of gift cards with the brand, Hallmark. With the partnership flourishing, Hallmark were keen to expand the range to include a series of Megan’s signature illustrations. Sales soared, and distribution increased, as well as a stint in the US market. Negotiating the licensing agreement, continuing terms, and managing creative requirements for the client and artist alike ensured this collaboration was a huge success.
Beci Orpin x Gro-To
Australian skincare brand Go-To, founded by Zoë Foster-Blake, was launching a kids range named Gro-To, and their designer, Hilary Thackway, couldn’t work with anyone else but Beci Orpin as her work inspired the design of the packaging concept! This was one of those dream projects where everyone had way too much fun, it all went smoothly, and the results were some outstanding packaging that won the Good Design Award for branding.
Shan Jiang x Tiger Beer
Having been born in Singapore and being of Chinese descent, I nerded out when Droga5 was looking for an artist to collaborate with for the Lunar New Year packaging for Tiger Beer. The complex and beautiful illustration was created to look amazing across packaging, OOH, digital and more. You better believe I got my family to take some in situ pictures!
Marc Martin x Woolworths
Supermarket giant Woolworths needed a refresh to their reusable bags, and who better to freshen the look than leading Australian children’s book author and artist Marc Martin! It was a tricky balance between texture and vector, and now a series of fruits and yummy goods can be seen all across Australia at checkouts of the famous wapple brand (yes, their logo is named a “wapple”).
This barely scratches the surface of mediums, brands, products and more that I’ve produced and I’m looking forward to producing work for mediums not yet invented :)
